Scunthorpe United’s new partnership with Lindsey Lodge Hospice got off to a fantastic start on Saturday, with £1,031.92 raised through a bucket collection at the Attis Arena.
The collection took place during the Iron’s Enterprise National League fixture against Hartlepool United, with supporters showing their generosity and backing the vital work carried out by Lindsey Lodge across North Lincolnshire.
The partnership, announced by the club last week, sees Lindsey Lodge become Scunthorpe United’s chosen external charity through to the end of the 2027-28 season, with both organisations committed to working together to support the local community, raise awareness and create new fundraising opportunities.
As part of the first initiative of the partnership, Scunthorpe United’s players also wore bespoke Lindsey Lodge warm-up shirts ahead of last weekend's fixture.
The shirts, provided to Lindsey Lodge by TKR, were specially created to mark the launch of the partnership and will now be signed by the players before being auctioned to supporters, with proceeds going directly towards Lindsey Lodge.
Details of how supporters can bid for the signed pre-match shirts will be released in due course.
The £1,031.92 raised through last Saturday’s bucket collection represents the first fundraising total of what promises to be a long-term partnership between the Iron and Lindsey Lodge, with further fundraising events, matchday activities and collaborative initiatives planned throughout the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign and into the 2027-28 season.
Scunthorpe United would like to thank everyone who contributed to Saturday’s collection and helped make the first day of the partnership such a success.
This is just the beginning, and the club looks forward to continuing to work alongside Lindsey Lodge, its supporters and the wider North Lincolnshire community to raise vital funds and awareness for the hospice and the families it supports.
