Scunthorpe United is delighted to confirm that midfielder Joe Rowley has committed his future to the club by penning a new two-year contract.

Originally joining the Iron on a two-year contract in 2024 following his departure from Fylde in the summer of that same year, the energetic midfielder enjoyed a two-year spell with the Coasters, during which he helped secure promotion to the National League in the 2022-23 campaign.

After originally finding game time hard to come by in the opening months of the 2024-25 season, Rowley would eventually nail down his position in the Scunthorpe midfield, featuring in 27 consecutive fixtures to end the campaign, achieving eight goal contributions and helping the Iron gain promotion from the National League North.

This term, Rowley started the season by becoming a more defensive-minded midfielder, sitting at the base of United's established midfield three 44 times in all competitions and, in doing so, playing more minutes than any other player. A candidate for player of the season for the Iron, he has more than earned his new deal that will keep him at the Attis Arena until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Congratulations on two more years, Joe!
