Last week Scunthorpe United took part in an initiative in association with Humber Forest and their charity delivery partner Rewilding Youth in order to plant a mix of standard trees and hedgerow whips on the site at the Attis Arena.

Along the South end of the Jason Threadgold’s Funeral Director’s training ground volunteers from the club, North Lincs Council, Humber Forest and Rewilding Youth planted 100’s of hedging plants to enhance biodiversity in the space, in addition this will help to mature the trees in the area to aid carbon capture.

This process further establishes the Iron as an environmentally responsible football club, something we will continue to be along with the help of the North Lincolnshire Council.

Humber Forest provided the funding for six standard trees and 395 hedgerow whips to be planted at the grounds, as follows:
