Scunthorpe United can confirm that Saturday's scheduled home league encounter against Brackley Town has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The Attis Arena surface was inspected by a contributory match official at 3pm following a frost overnight, with the pitch not suitably thawing following overnight sub-zero temperatures. The covers were put on ahead of the plummet in temperature, with areas of deep frost still evident across areas of the surface. In particular, the strip of pitch towards the AMS Stand, which gets no sunlight, remains frozen solid, and has not improved throughout the course of Friday.

With further low temperatures this evening, a proactive approach has been taken, with the pitch not likely to thaw at a similar time tomorrow.

The National League requires all teams to take early action regarding pitch inspections, where possible, with the club constantly in communication with the league, opposition, and officials regarding this decision.

As soon as we have a new date for the fixture, we will announce on our website and social media.

All tickets purchased remain valid for the rearranged fixture. In line with the club's terms and conditions, any refund requests will be processed once the fixture has been rearranged, and must be claimed prior to the rearranged fixture taking place.
