The Iron are back in action for a huge test against an unbeaten Boreham Wood sitting second in the table, after United got a positive result on the road. Last time out, Scunthorpe beat a Sutton United team away from home. Kyle Hurst opened the scoring with a wonderful volley into the top left corner, just five minutes before half time to open the scoring. The Iron’s second was a fantastically well-worked goal that was finished off by new loan signing who has returned to the club, Tyrell Sellars-Fleming.

Boreham Wood came to the Attis Arena in serious form, with five wins and two draws in the league, and 17 points from a possible 21. The Wood came close to promotion last season as they finished fourth in the table, with 90 points and got to the play-off final, where they narrowly lost on penalties to Rochdale after losing a two-goal lead, conceding an equaliser in the 90+7th minute. After their Wembley heartbreak, Boreham Wood are playing with a point to prove and are in strong contention to win the league title.

The main man for Boreham Wood is their top goalscorer, Matt Rush. After joining from Maidstone United, he has been nothing short of sensational. His highest ever goal tally before joining the Wood in a season was 15 goals. In his first year at Boreham Wood in 2024/25 he got 16 goals, and last season he got a remarkable 34 goals and five assists. And there’s been no slow start for the 25-year-old; after seven games Rush has bagged nine goals and assisted once in the league, putting himself on track for another outstanding goal-scoring season.

As Boreham Wood come to the Attis Arena looking to get back to winning ways after a draw against Eastleigh, United will be hoping they can build on their important victory against Sutton. Despite the visitors being the more in-form side after seven games, the Iron will be hoping they can use their home advantage to their advantage and pull off a shock result.
