Gavin Ward will referee the Iron's away league encounter at Colchester United on Saturday.
The Surrey-based official will travel to the JobServe Community Stadium for his 12th game of the season and first in Sky Bet League Two. 2021-22 is his 15th year in the EFL, first taking charge of a League Two match between Barnet and Hereford United back in August 2007.
Ward is a Select Group Two match official and most frequently takes charge of Championship matches, with 10 out of his 11 so far in this campaign coming in the second tier.
He began the season overseeing Hull City's 4-1 away win at Preston North End on the opening day, while he last took charge of the 3-2 Sheffield United win against Barnsley last weekend.
He's taken charge of six Iron games in the past, with the last coming almost five years ago when the side exited the EFL Trophy following a 4-1 defeat at Oxford United. Across the six games, he's issued 18 cautions and no red cards.
Meanwhile, he's officiated Colchester on 17 previous occasions, the last of which coming in January 2020. 12 of the 17 games have come at the Us' home ground. Across the 17 matches, he's issued 57 yellow cards and four reds.
Last year, he officiated in 31 encounters, showing 108 yellows and four reds. So far this season, he has shown 47 yellow cards and two reds in 11 matches.
On Saturday, Wright will be assisted by Nigel Lugg and Matthew McGrath, while Nicholas Cooper has been appointed as the fourth official.
