Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the acquisition of highly rated wide-man Luke Brennan from National League North side Buxton for an undisclosed fee.

Having started his career amongst the youth ranks at Blackburn Rovers, Brennan would experience his first taste of men's football with loans to firstly AFC Fylde before attracting interest from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2022, moving to the DW Stadium before being loaned out to Welsh giants The New Saints, where he accumulated seven goal contributions in ten games.

After this prolific spell across the border, Brennan would earn himself a permanent switch back to Fylde upon the expiry of his contract with the Latics, where he spent just four months before dropping into Step 2 with John McGrath's Bucks.

During his time with Buxton, the 24-year-old would play 85 times across a one-and-a-half year spell, notching an impressive return of 59 goal contributions in that time, leading the Bucks to successive play-off campaigns. Now, Brennan joins United on a three-year contract, looking to establish himself in the National League under the guidance of Andy Butler.
