Scunthorpe United is delighted to confirm the extension of Leeds United goalkeeper Rory Mahady's loan with the club for a further month.

The 19-year-old originally joined the club in October to play in the 3-1 victory over York City, with then-on-loan shot stopper Rory Watson ineligible to face his former club. Coming into the building a day prior to the match, Mahady impressed in the game at the LNER Community Stadium on what was his professional debut, proving himself worthy of a month's loan extension that has been extended several times since.

Starting his career in his native Scotland with Celtic, he would be snapped up by the Yorkshire-based side in 2022 and quickly became one of the Whites' highly tipped prospects, which was reflected in him signing a new three-year deal this summer.

Over the course of his spell with the Iron so far, Mahady has more than impressed between the sticks, making 10 appearances across all competitions and keeping three clean sheets in that time, an impressive return for a young shot stopper looking to establish himself in the men's game.

As per previous months, Leeds continue to monitor Mahady's progress with the Iron and the nature of the youth loan with him means the deal will continue to be reviewed on a month-by-month basis.
