Scunthorpe United can confirm the departure of midfielder Kian Scales as he joins Enterprise National League North side Radcliffe FC on loan for an initial month.
Joining the Iron in the summer of 2023, following his release from boyhood club Bradford City, Scales would arrive ahead of the Iron's first National League North campaign, immediately taking the division by storm and impressing supporters with his tireless performances and incredible work rate. The midfielder would go on to repeat that feat in United's 2024-25 promotion-winning campaign by covering more ground than any other Iron player and featuring 47 times across the course of the season.
So far this campaign, Scales has featured 19 times for the Iron in the Enterprise National League, with a further six appearances in other competitions. Despite an extended period in the starting XI during the suspension of Joe Starbuck earlier in the season, Scales has struggled to break into the Scunthorpe team at times, hence joining the Boro as he looks to establish regular minutes in Radcliffe's promotion-pushing side.
