Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the loan signing of youthful forward Leo Farrell, who joins the club from EFL League One side Barnsley FC on an initial 28 day-loan.

Starting his career with his local side, the Tykes, Farrell is a direct forward who has broken into the first team for the Yorkshire-based club in recent months, featuring off the bench for Connor Hourihane's side on several occasions and being included in the FA Cup Fourth round tie against Liverpool, where he was an unused substitute at Anfield.

Making his Barnsley debut earlier this season against Fleetwood in the Carabao Cup, Farrell is no stranger to the men's game, previously gaining experience in the Northern Premier League across several spells with Guiseley AFC, enjoying a fantastic 2024/25 season, where he scored seven goals in fifteen games for the Lions before a season-ending injury unfortunately brought his prolific run infront of goal to an end.

Earlier this campaign, the 20-year-old returned to Guiseley on a short-term deal that was due to run until January. However, this spell would last just four games, with Farrell scoring three goals before being recalled back to Barnsley in order to link back up with their first-team squad on a more regular basis.
