Scunthorpe United can announce that, ahead of tonight's National League Cup fixture against Middlesbrough U21's, versatile defender / midfielder Harry Shipstone has joined the club on dual registration terms with Northern Counties Premier Division side, Beverley Town.
Having trained with United over the course of pre-season following his release from Grimsby Town at the end of last season, Shipstone impressed Scunthorpe manager Andy Butler during several of his pre-season appearances for the club, where he primarily operated as a full-back.
Since the beginning of the 2025-26 season, Shipstone has continued his training with the club in search of a dual registration contract. Following a slight injury that kept him out of action throughout September, the 18-year-old joined Bottesford Town for a short spell before linking up with the Beavers earlier this month.
His involvement with Beverley has coincided with an upturn in form, with his three substitute appearances to date seeing him experience wins on all three occasions, which succeeded four successive defeats prior to his arrival. The Beavers currently sit third in the NCEL Premier Division following promotion to the level in 2023-24, with aspirations for a promotion push this campaign.
