Last time out in midweek, the Iron gained a valuable three points in a convincing victory over York City, winning 3-1.

Alfie Beestin opened the scoring with a lovely strike on the half volley right on the stroke of
half time. Ollie Ewing doubled United’s lead from the penalty spot with less than ten minutes of
normal time to play. The hosts got one back in added time through Ollie Pearce, before Tyler
Sellars-Fleming confirmed all three points in the 90+9th minute scoring after a brilliant solo run.
Next up is a clash against third placed Carlisle, hoping to have avenged their form after getting
back to winning ways at home against Hartlepool.

After getting relegated from the football league, life in the National League had started brightly
for the visitors with just one loss from their opening ten games. Before their midweek victory
there looked to have been a dip in form, after a 5-0 defeat to York and a 2-0 home loss to
Rochdale, but their convincing midweek victory will be a confidence boost just in time for their
trip to the Attis Arena.

Attacking duo Reagan Linney and Luke Armstrong are both goal threats for the opposition going
into the game. Linney has netted nine goals this season and assisted two, getting them two
assists against Hartlepool in their 3-1 triumph. Last season Linney had quite the campaign at
Altrincham, from 48 appearances the 28 year old netted 25 goals and seven assists, with his
start to this year he will be hoping to replicate those numbers. Armstrong has netted four goals
and assisted two from his 12 appearances this season, showing his strong start to the
campaign.

As the Iron approach this late 17:30 kick off in fantastic form with another impressive home
crowd expected, Andy Butler will be hoping his side can get all three points against Mark
Hughes’ Carlisle side
