The Iron look forward to an away clash against Solihull Moors after getting back to
winning ways against Yeovil Town. Last time out, it was a first-half goal from Tyler
Sellars-Fleming to win the game, after Dec Howe won the ball from pressing the
opposition goalkeeper, he squared it to the goalscorer, who passed the ball into the empty
net. Now back on the road, Scunthorpe face an in-form Solihull side climbing up the
table.
The Moors had a poor start to the season, as they were winless in their first eight matches of
the season, leading to Solihull changing their manager. Matt Taylor left the club and was
replaced by Chris Millington recently, who has guided them up the table already under his reign.
With four victories from their last five, the hosts are building momentum going into this fixture,
and will be keen to inflict trouble on the Iron. Millington has managed seven matches, winning
four, drawing once and losing just two games. As he faces sixth placed Scunthorpe his side will
need to be at their best, and he has two players who can cause any side trouble in the division
at their best.
Jacob Wakeling and Ben Worman, are two players who could help our opponents find a goal
against the Iron’s strong defence, which only Rochdale have conceded less than. Wakeling has
started this season strong with seven goals in ten appearances, proving himself to be quite the
prolific forward. The 24-year-old joined in the summer from Gillingham, and is just one goal
away from equalling his best-ever goal-scoring tally. Worman, another summer recruit, joined
from Gateshead, where he was a regular starter, making 52 appearances last season. At
Solihull, he has shown his ability to break down defences with four assists this season, the 24
year old midfielder will be looking to unlock the Scunthorpe defence.
As the Iron look to apply further pressure onto the top five and move up the table, this game has
significance. Scunthorpe will be facing some familiar faces, with Tyrese Sinclair and Brad
Nicholson in the Solihull ranks. The hosts will be hoping to keep their fine form under Millington
running as they welcome United to The ARMCO Arena.
