Scunthorpe United can confirm that former Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Louis Jones has been registered with the club on non-contract terms ahead of today’s game against Altrincham FC.

Coming through the Rovers ranks from the age of 12, Jones made over 50 appearances in all competitions for his boyhood club, with his debut awarded to him by Scunthorpe manager Andy Butler. With a number of loans helping to further his development over the years, Jones would depart Doncaster in the January of 2025 to join Dagenham & Redbridge on a short-term deal, where he quickly became the starting goalkeeper for the Daggers until a hamstring injury brought his season to an end.

Jones joined the Iron as a trialist in the summer, where he impressed goalkeeper coach Paul Musselwhite with his tremendous shot-stopping ability. With a further injury setback preventing him from carrying on with the Iron, he would return earlier this month to help regain fitness before putting pen to paper on a non-contract basis.
