Scunthorpe United has received a report of an alleged racist incident in the Threadgold Stand from Saturday's home encounter against Braintree Town.

The club condemns this allegation in the strongest possible terms and reaffirms that there is absolutely no place for racism or discrimination of any kind at the Attis Arena or within our football community.

We are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness and have begun an internal review. We are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything relevant to come forward and email martin.hopper@scunthorpe-united.co.uk where your information will be treated in strict confidence. Anyone with information is urged to contact the club immediately so that we can assist the authorities and ensure appropriate action is taken.
