We're Hiring: Bookkeeper (Part-Time)
Location: Scunthorpe United FC
Hours: 15 per week | Rate: £15 per hour
Working Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays | 9am – 5pm

Scunthorpe United FC is entering an exciting new phase and we are looking for a skilled bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial transformation. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a historic football club as it pushes forward with its goal of becoming a self-sustaining operation within the next three years.

You will work directly with the board and our external accountants, Jackson Stapleton Accountants, to implement Xero Accounting Software, making use of automation and integration features to ensure efficient and timely financial reporting.

Your role:

• Maintain day-to-day financial records including purchase and sales ledger, reconciliations and payroll

Support the transition to Xero, helping streamline financial processes using cloud-based tools

Prepare weekly summaries and monthly management reports

Handle sensitive financial information with absolute confidentiality

Liaise with the board and report directly to Mark Jackson-Stapleton

Meet regular reporting deadlines and contribute to strategic financial planning

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum five years' bookkeeping experience

Experience with payroll and cloud-based accounting software

Confident handling confidential or sensitive information

A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a willingness to innovate

Prior experience in football or a sporting organisation is preferred but not essential
