Statement regarding the Iron's accounts, which have been filed with Companies House...
The financial statements for the year ended 30th June 2024 reflect a period of significant transition, marking the change in ownership and leadership at Scunthorpe United Football Club. These results highlight the challenges faced by the club in recent years, most notably an outgoing budget that has not been matched by incoming revenues.
Since the arrival of the current board – both during the financial year and in the period following year-end – substantial steps have been taken to stabilise the club and address historical issues. The board remains resolute in its commitment to the club’s long-term existence and growth. Encouragingly, performances on the pitch suggest that the club is now heading in the right direction.
It is anticipated that the financial year ending June 2025 will also reflect a loss as legacy matters continue to be resolved. However, the board’s primary objective remains to achieve financial sustainability, with the clear aim of the club becoming self-sufficient within the next two-to-three years.
In order to allow cost effective distribution of the accounts, we ask shareholders contact the club via secretary@scunthorpe-united.co.uk to provide an up-to-date email address.
