More miles for the Iron to travel in 2025-26

United will travel more miles completing their National League fixtures next season - 2,144 more than in the last campaign in fact.

Last season, the team travelled 5,110 miles to complete their 23 regular away league games, but they will travel 7,254 to take on the sides in the National League Premier Division next season.

Being promoted back to non-regionalised football means United reintroduce trips to face teams over 200 miles away, with five over that threshold to face in the forthcoming season. There are also just six teams to face within a 100 mile radius of the Attis Arena, in comparison with the 10 there were last season.

York City becomes the Iron’s shortest trip of the campaign at just 54 miles, while FC Halifax Town and Boston United are second and third, respectively.

The longest trip of the season will see the Iron head to Truro City for the very first time, with that trip to the south coast a staggering 736-mile round trip from Scunthorpe’s home. Many Iron supporters will also be heading to Braintree Town for a ground tick, which comes out middle of the road at around a 340-mile round trip.

The 7,254 mile total expected to be travelled this season is slightly less than the last time United were at this level - 68 less in fact.
