Scunthorpe United is delighted to confirm the retention of attacker Callum Roberts who has committed his immediate future to the club on a new one-year deal.

The 28-year-old, who scooped the majority of the end of season accolades last season en route to promotion from the National League North, was the club's top goalscorer in the last campaign, scoring 20 league goals in his 43 appearances , 41 of which were starts, inclusive of the promotion semi-final.

Last season put to bed a campaign of frustration for the forward, who endured a stop-start year following his transfer from Aberdeen in 2023, and became a prominent figure and a star player in sealing the club's return to Step One.

Across his two years at the club, he's made 66 appearances, inclusive of 55 starts, scoring 26 goals, with Roberts becoming the latest Iron player to decide to remain at the club with Andrew Boyce, Joe Starbuck and Danny Whitehall also successfully negotiating new deals with the club, while eight were already contracted following the end of last season including those with options activated.

We will have full reaction from Callum following his decision to stay with the club once he returns from holiday.
