Sam Fishburn joins Gainsborough Trinity on loan

Scunthorpe United can confirm forward Sam Fishburn has joined Northern Premier League Premier Division side Gainsborough Trinity on loan for an initial month.

21-year-old Fishburn links up with former Iron manager Russ Wilcox at the KAL Group Stadium in a search for more minutes having scored two goals in 15 games for the Iron, three of which starts, since leaving Fleetwood Town in the summer.

He featured just a handful of minutes for Spennymoor Town in a recent loan away from the club as he picked up a knock, and was therefore sidelined.

Prior to being with the Cod Army, Fishburn was at Carlisle United, and enjoyed a number of loan spells including Lancaster City and Morpeth Town.
