Scunthorpe United can confirm that left-sided defender Brad Nicholson has departed the club to join his former team Boston United on a permanent basis.

After departing the Pilgrims in the summer following the expiration of his contract, Nicholson linked up with the Iron during pre-season and was instantly impressive with his spirited performances.

Following a formation change in early November, Nicholson found himself amongst the substitutes and struggled to break into the starting XI in the months that followed, other than a singular start in Scunthorpe’s 2-1 victory over relegation candidates Marine back in December.

In total, the 26-year-old made 20 appearances during his time in claret and blue along with adding three assists to his tally. His only goal for the club would come in the form of his crucial late equaliser in the Iron’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle Town in the FA Cup.

We wish Brad well for the future and thank him for his efforts while with the club.
