Scunthorpe United can confirm that the dual registration between Aaron Braithwaite and the club has ended, allowing the midfielder to sign a permanent and longer term deal with Cleethorpes Town.

The 21-year-old has been training with the club all season, alongside playing for Northern Premier League East Division league leaders Cleethorpes on a weekly basis, and had signed dual papers with both clubs.

Braithwaite featured in pre-season for the club before joining his local side, having come through the academy at United's rivals Grimsby Town.

Such is the success that Cleethorpes is having this season, as they fight for promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division, the Owls have started to plan more long term and have offered Aaron an 18-month contract at the club, taking him to the end of the 2025-26 season - an offer he could not turn down.

Braithwaite has scored three goals in his 16 appearances for the side so far this season, and we wish him all the very best for the future.
