Last time out, the Iron won emphatically in the FA Trophy in a home triumph over
Peterborough Sports. Scunthorpe won 5-0 on the day with a first-half opener by Declan
Howe, followed by second-half goals from Cal Roberts, a Dubem Eze brace and Max
Brogan is getting on the scoresheet. Next up is a fierce test, an early kick-off away from
home, back in league action against an inform play-off chasing Woking.

In the reverse fixture at the Attis Arena, United took all three points in August in a strong display.
A first-half brace from Declan Howe gave Andy Butler’s side the advantage, before Danny
Whitehall put his side three goals to the good. A consolation goal from Jack Turner with less
than, ten minutes to go was all Woking could respond with.

The hosts are in fantastic form as we approach this fixture, unbeaten in their last 11 fixtures in
all competitions (eight wins, three draws). In their last league encounter, the Cardinals showed
their quality against a top side in the division, winning 3-1 away from home against Mark
Hughes, Carlisle side. Luamba put Carlisle into the lead, before two quick-fire goals from Jamie
Andrews and Olatunji Akinola put Woking into the lead on the stroke of half-time. Aiden O’Brien
put the game to bed, netting in the 90th minute to seal a huge statement victory for his side.
At home, Woking have had some pretty poor form this season, with just two victories from 11
Games on home turf, (six draws and three defeats), only five teams have picked up less points
at home, and only Gateshead have picked up fewer wins. Looking to improve this form are three
attacking assets, Josh Kelly, Oliver Sanderson and Harry Beautyman. Striker partnership, Kelly
and Sanderson have been leading the line for our opposition and have both got 11 league goal
involvements between them. Kelly has netted four goals and assisted two in the league, whilst
Sanderson has four goals and one assist to his name. A midfield threat, Beautyman has also
proved to be a goal threat with four goals from the middle of the park, making him joint top
scorer. All three men will be desperate to have their say on this fixture.

As the Iron look to continue their positive run of form, to make it three wins in a row, a
dangerous Woking side playing in top form face them next. Despite sitting in fifth place,
competition for places is extremely tight, as just nine points separate Butler’s side from top
spot Rochdale. Another three points would push Scunthorpe closer to Boreham Wood as United
look to close the gap on the top five, whilst also steering further away from the outside of the play-offs
