Scunthorpe United's final game of pre-season will see them travel to face National League North newcomers Worksop Town on Saturday, August 2nd (3pm kick-off).

Andy Butler will take his team to the Windsor Food Service Stadium to face the side who won promotion to the National League North following their play-off final win over Guiseley, making it two promotions in three seasons for the side.

The Tigers finished second in the Northern Premier League Premier Division last season on 83 points, behind Macclesfield who ran away with the title. Worksop finished eight points clear of third placed Stockton Town before seeing off Ashton United and Guiseley in the eliminators.

The sides last met in a pre-season friendly back in the 1969-70 campaign, with United running away 4-1 winners on their travels in the game played on Monday, August 4th, 1969. Steve Deere scored a brace, while Kevin Keegan and Jim Currie got the other Scunthorpe goals on the day.

The fixture at the Nottinghamshire-based side will come seven days before the start of the National League campaign.
