Get on the road to professional football with our course for school leavers – the Iron Foundation Education Academy in partnership with Scunthorpe United Football Club and North Lindsey College.

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity is designed as a full, two-year programme for learners who with to develop their skills and knowledge of the sector. The qualification is designed for learners who want to go on to higher level studies with the opportunity to progress towards professional football. It will give learners skills, knowledge and an understanding of the sport and physical activity sector.

• Equivalent to 3 A-Levels

15 hours of education per week

Up to 10 hours of football per week

19 units relating to physical education, ranging from anatomy and physiology to sport as a business

Primarily assessed through weekly coursework with some practical assessments

Training sessions led by UEFA qualified coaches

Prerequisites to apply…

• An interest towards playing regular football

A minimum of three GCSEs at Level 4 or above, including English and Maths

Qualified candidates who have studied with the Iron Foundation previously have progressed onto our Foundation Degree in association with the University of South Wales, apprenticeships in various sectors within sport and physical activity or furthered their education at university.
