Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the signing of electric midfielder Joe Rowley, who puts pen to paper with the Iron after a successful trial period.
Rowley departed National League outfit Fylde in the summer following a two-year spell with the Coasters in which he managed to gain promotion from the National League North in the 2022-23 campaign.
Born in Sheffield, Rowley came through the youth ranks at Chesterfield and was a highly rated talent throughout the Spireites academy. When the time came to make the natural progression to the first team, the 25-year-old thrived and went on to make over 100 appearances for the Derbyshire side over a five-year period. A former England C international, Rowley had a further spell in the Iron’s current division with expected promotion rivals King's Lynn Town.
Over the course of his trial spell throughout pre-season, Rowley had impressed over the course of his two-game probation and hence coaxed United first-team manager Andy Butler into snapping him up at the first opportunity.
Joe takes the number 11 jersey, and will continue to wear claret and blue this evening at Gainsborough Trinity.
