Former Iron midfielder Dean Martin is confirmed to be a special guest speaker in the Attis Arena restaurant for our pre-season encounter with Halifax Town on Saturday, July 27th (1pm kick-off).
Martin applied his trade for both Scunthorpe and the Shaymen throughout his 17-year playing career that saw him make over 400 career appearances for a number of clubs.
Martin joined Scunthorpe from his hometown club Halifax for whom he’d become a first-team regular. He made 106 appearances during his time in claret and blue between 1991 and 1995 in which time he scored seven goals from the base of the Iron midfield.
Following his departure from the Iron he would return to join Rochdale on a permanent basis and would proceed to return to Halifax on two further season long-loan spells before departing the Dale 1997and winding down his career with Lancaster City and Stalybridge Celtic.
