The Iron are back in action on home soil after a midweek triumph, following a win over Needham Market, thanks to a goal from the penalty spot by Danny Whitehall, extending the side's great start to the season.

Our opponents haven’t had the start to the season they would’ve hoped for after reaching the play-off semi-finals last season, they’ve started the league campaign with four points from a possible nine. Last time out Chorley hosted Scarborough Athletic and suffered a 2-1 defeat after taking the lead in the 10th minute and going into the second half 1-0 up, Scarborough managed to turn the game around with the winner coming in the 92nd minute.

A key player for Chorley last season now at the Iron, Carlton Ubaezuonu is available to play against his former team after serving his three-match ban he received at the end of last season. After a strong pre-season, Carlton will be looking to make a strong impression on his first competitive game for United.

A new signing looking to prove himself for Chorley is Craig Hewitt. The 20-year-old winger signed after departing Banbury United, the signing gives Hewitt a chance to become a fan favourite after bagging his first goal for the club on Tuesday he will be hoping to build on that. He scored just three goals in 44 appearances for Banbury last season, but has impressed the Chorley faithful in pre-season bagging two goals as a trialist before the Magpies announced the signing.

Butler's side will be looking to have more of the same back in front of the home fans, looking to put the early season defensive prowess on show, with the Iron still yet to concede a goal in the league having played over 270 mins of football.
