The 29-year-old was most recently at Vanarama National League side Kidderminster Harriers, where he scored two goals across a total of 32 appearances for the side in all competitions.
In his youth days, Leesley had a trial with the Iron’s academy in 2010-11, scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Burton Albion in a match held at St Lawrence Academy.
Leesley, who can play in defence, midfield and on the wings, began his career at local side Winterton Rangers before stints at Matlock Town and Alfreton Town before signing for Harrogate Town in 2016. He’s spend six years with the side, playing a prominent part in their rise from National League North through to League Two. In their promotion from Step Two, he scored 22 goals in 51 games for the Sulphurites.
Loan moves to Stockport County, Stevenage and Boston United would follow before the move to the Pilgrims became permanent after two stints. While with Boston, he would make a brief loan move to Darlington before he completed a switch to Kidderminster.
He has also represented England ‘C’ on one occasion in 2016, with a career total of 48 goals scored in over 300 appearances.
Leesley takes the number 30 jersey, and is available for selection going forward.
