Iron sign Liam Thompson on loan from Derby County

Scunthorpe United is delighted to have completed the loan signing of Derby County midfielder Liam Thompson until the end of the season.

Regarded as a massive talent at Pride Park Stadium, we are extremely grateful to the Rams for allowing the 20-year-old to join us for the remainder of this campaign.

With 23 Championship appearances last season and 24 league and cup appearances this term, he brings energy, quality and EFL experience.

Thompson joined the Derby County youth set-up as a teenager, having played youth football with Nottingham-based Dunkirk and is tipped to have a bright future with the Rams.

The transfer is subject to league and FA ratification.
