Scunthorpe United can provide an update on the squad situation ahead of the return to pre-season training on Monday.
- We can confirm the club has accepted an improved offer from a Championship side for goalkeeper Owen Foster after rejecting the first offer that was submitted to the club. We expect confirmation of the transfer to go through next week.
- The Iron has today rejected an offer from Vanarama National League side Oldham Athletic for defender Reagan Ogle. As previously stated, Reagan remains firmly in Jimmy Dean's plans for the 2023-24 season.
- Successful negotiations with attacker Cameron Wilson have been completed. Having initially rejected a new contract offer and despite having numerous offers in higher leagues, he has stated that none have come close to wanting to extend his stay with the side he's played for since he was 11 years old. He sees the clear ambition of the club and wants to assist in getting it back to where it belongs.
- As it stands, we expect that Jacob Butterfield will remain at the club. Another player seemingly impressed with the ambition shown at the club and is keen to be involved.
- A deal has been agreed in principle for Marcus Carver to go out on a season long loan to another club. As soon as this has been concluded, we will jointly announce his departure with the side he will be joining.
- Second year academy scholar Tyrell Sellars-Fleming has rejected the contract offer made by the club and will be departing. We have retained our compensation rights and wish him well for the future.
- We are expecting to conclude deals for the signing of an additional three players next week. If and when these are completed, we will announce them as always.
