The 27-year-old arrives at the Iron from Boreham Wood after a prolific loan spell at fellow National League side Gateshead earlier this season where he scored six goals in nine appearances in all competitions.
Following a youth career at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, Elliott made the decision to move to the United States in 2014 where he played college soccer for the Hofstra Pride. During that spell, he scored 14 goals in 68 appearances before stints at North Carolina U23s and Long Island Rough Riders.
The Nottingham-born forward then had a short spell with Spanish side San Cristóbal, making nine appearances before returning to England to sign for Port Vale.
Elliott then signed for National League North side Chester in 2019, spending two years at the Deva Stadium scoring 11 goals in 44 appearances. During his first season at the side, he would spend five games out on loan at Alfreton Town where he scored a hat-trick on his debut in the 6-1 victory over Gloucester City. He would net a further two goals during his time there.
Hartlepool United acquired his services for the 2020-21 season, with one goal netted in eight appearances at Victoria Park before he made the switch to Boston United. It was with the Pilgrims where he’d discover fine form, netting 30 goals in all competitions in 51 appearances for the side in his one-year stay. That included 19 goals in 41 league appearances, with the nature of his season attracting attention from the division above.
It was Boreham Wood who won the race to sign Elliott ahead of the current campaign, with the six-foot striker making 17 appearances (four of which were starts) during his time there, scoring three goals. It was during that time he would go out on loan to Gateshead, where he netted five goals in seven league games.
So far, in all competitions in his career, he’s scored 59 goals in 156 games.
The transfer is subject to National League and FA ratification.
