Iron agree partnership with the Smoking Goat

9 August 2023

Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce a partnership with the Smoking Goat as the club’s new provider for hospitality and catering services at Glanford Park.

As part of the club’s continued commitment to improve the experience for supporters, the Iron have teamed up with the local company, who will manage the catering operation at Glanford Park.

The partnership agreement commences immediately and will cover all hospitality and catering services at the stadium. This includes the public concessions and hospitality areas on matchdays, as well as the Glanford Park Restaurant Bar and Executive Lounge and event functions on non-matchdays.

The Smoking Goat will take immediate control of the facilities at Glanford Park and will operate the catering points and bars for this Saturday’s home league encounter against Peterborough Sports.

The Smoking Goat, a burger joint with a twist based on Ashby High Street, opened in 2021 and has gone from strength to strength, with Danny and Nicole also opening an Italian restaurant Casa Della Pasta in Messingham earlier this year.

From the Goat Burger to pies and loaded fries, the menus going forward will definitely provide an exciting choice for Iron and visiting supporters on a matchday. All food will be homemade, all made fresh and all at very affordable prices.

Owner of the Smoking Goat, Danny Stamp, said: “We are extremely excited to be working with Scunthorpe United and we hope to create a better matchday experience for everyone involved.

“We are committed to investing in the facilities in the catering points and will look to bring you an extended menu as time goes by. It is a quick turnaround for the first two games on Saturday and Tuesday, but we are committed to work extremely hard behind the scenes to improve the offering at Glanford Park.

“Hopefully supporters will embrace us coming in and see progression over the coming games as we look to make our mark and provide some of the best “footy scran” in football.”

The Iron would like to thank all those who contacted the club regarding the tender process announced on Tuesday morning.
