The attacker wasn’t able to feature in the FA Cup tie at South Shields last weekend at the request of his parent club Blackpool, but believes the break has done him some good.
He said: “I’m feeling fresh and ready to go. I can’t wait to get back out there.”
Apter continued: “I’m in good form and I’ll try and get another goal on Saturday to help the team get as many points as we can."
Rob reflected on his last goal for the Iron, in the 3-3 draw against Aldershot, and hopes there is still more to come: “I’d say it’s my best yet. The way I came inside and then turned and shot as quick as I did, I’d certainly say it’s the best goal I’ve scored."
He then went on to talk about the positive mood within the camp, despite last Saturday's FA Cup exit. He said: “The confidence is high. The defeat knocked the lads a bit, but after being in all week we’re now ready and raring to go for Saturday.”
Apter and Jacob Butterfield are both back in contention this weekend, and the youngster was asked if he believes that their return will lift the team: “I don’t think it’s just about us two, I think everyone can help the team in their own way to try and get a result.”
The Liverpudlian also spoke about the upcoming week of fixtures, with three games across a seven day period. He added: “We’ve got a lot of games in a short amount of time, but we’re ready to put the performances in.”
Finally, Apter spoke about his time at the Iron so far. He said: “It’s been good but I think I could have done better. That’s how I am though, I will always look to do better. There are a few games where we’ve been unlucky, where we could have scored four or five and we’ve come out with one. That happens in football and you just have to be ready for the next game.”
