Sam Allison will be the referee for the Iron's trip to face Forest Green Rovers this Saturday.

The Wiltshire-based official arrives at the New Lawn for his 28th game of the campaign and his 12th in Sky Bet League Two.

Allison is a recent addition to the EFL refereeing ranks following his promotion to the National List ahead of the 2020-21 season and is the cousin of former Jamaica midfielder Fitzroy Simpson, who had spells at Swindon Town, Manchester City and Portsmouth.

A former semi-professional player, he combines working for the fire service with his refereeing career, which he started in 2011.

He's taken charge of Iron matches twice in the past, back in October 2020 when he oversaw the 1-0 defeat at Cheltenham Town when he awarded an early controversial penalty to the Robins. He cautioned three on the night, including the Iron's Lewis Spence. He then went on to officiate our 1-1 home draw against Oldham Athletic in March 2021, which saw four yellow cards.

So far this season, he's shown 112 yellow cards and six reds in 28 games. Last season, he officiated 35 matches and showed 102 yellow cards, plus one red.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Joe Clark and Kevin Howick, while Dean Treleaven has been appointed as the fourth official.
