Samuel Barrott will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league encounter against Leyton Orient on Tuesday.

The West Riding-based official will travel to the Sands Venue Stadium for his 18th game of the season and his seventh involvement in Sky Bet League Two this season. The current campaign is his second in the EFL as the man in the middle after being promoted to the National List at the end of the 2019-20 season.

His first game of the campaign was AFC Wimbledon's 2-1 away win at Doncaster Rovers on the opening day of the season, while he most recently took charge of Crawley's 1-0 away win at Barrow at the weekend. He was also in FA Cup action last Wednesday as he oversaw the televised game between Stockport County and Bolton Wanderers.

Barrott has taken charge of two previous Iron fixtures, with the first coming in the Papa John's Trophy last season at home to Mansfield Town, while he also took charge of the away defeat at Carlisle United in the league back in April. Four cautions have been shown across both games, with all of them going to Scunthorpe players.

He's taken charge of two past Orient games, both away from home, both of which last season, and both of which resulting in 1-0 Leyton Orient victories. The last came earlier this calendar year at Newport County, with six cautions issued in the game.

Last season, he took charge of 32 games, issuing 86 yellow cards and four reds, while so far this season, in 17 games, he's shown 67 yellow cards and no reds.

On Tuesday, he will be assisted by Alan Clayton and Declan Ford, while Lee Freeman has been appointed as the fourth official.
