Millen: It was Scottish weather!

29 November 2021

Defender Ross Millen gave his reaction to iFollow Iron after his side drew 1-1 at home to Bradford City at the weekend.

Reflecting on the game, the Scottish right-back said: “It was difficult conditions, I think even supporters will have known how bad the weather was. In the first half, we did well and we probably could have been up two or three if we’d taken our chances. At least we’re getting in there and making our opportunities now.

“The second half was tough with the wind, but I thought it went okay and we were in control to a certain extent. It’s another point on the board and it’s better than nothing.”

He added: “Bradford have a big budget and they’ll be looking to try to win the league. We’re trying to get into a better position than we are now and a point against a team like that gives us confidence. I think we can only take positives and build on it for the next game.”

Commenting on the new manager, Keith Hill's impact, he said: “When a new gaffer comes in there’s always going to be that extra effort because everyone’s starting level. The gaffer came in with his philosophy and we're all working very hard."

Talking about being back in the team for the past couple of games, Millen said: “I’ll do the best I can and if that’s good enough great but if not I’ll support the team. I’m working hard. It’s tough when it’s conditions like Saturday - that’s Scottish weather! I think it might be colder than back home today but we’ve got a point on the board.”
