Chris Sarginson will take charge of the Iron's home league encounter against Bradford City this Saturday.
The Staffordshire-based official arrives at the Sands Venue Stadium for his 21st game of the campaign and his eighth in Sky Bet League Two.
His first game of the campaign was the 1-1 draw between Plymouth Argyle and Cambridge United in League One, a match in which he issued seven cautions. His latest outing came on Tuesday when he oversaw Forest Green Rovers' 2-0 home win over Barrow. Two cautions were shown on the night.
He's taken charge of the Iron on 18 occasions in 13 years, most recently the away defeat to Barrow back in January where he dismissed Junior Brown for a second bookable offence after playing a Bluebirds advantage. The game previous to that was at the Sands Venue Stadium in October 2020 where he awarded two penalties against Scunthorpe and sent off Myles Hippolyte for two quick cautions in a defeat to Cambridge United. In total, he's shown 44 yellow cards and six reds in Scunthorpe United fixtures.
He's also taken charge of Bradford City on 18 previous occasions, with the first dating back to January 2009 when he oversaw their 2-0 win over Grimsby Town. The side have won their three most recent games with Sarginson in charge, with a total of 40 yellow cards and two reds shown across the 18 games.
Last season, he took charge of 31 games, issuing 78 yellow cards and three reds - two of which to Scunthorpe players. So far this campaign, in 20 games, he's issued 66 yellow cards and one red.
On Saturday, Sarginson will be assisted by Paul Graham and Conor Brown, while Mark Jones has been appointed as the fourth official.
