Benjamin Speedie will take charge of the Iron's trip to Mansfield Town on Saturday.

The Merseyside-based official will travel to the One Call Stadium for his 18th game of the season and his sixth game in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is his second as an EFL match official.

His first game of the season was Portsmouth's 1-0 away win at Fleetwood Town on the opening day of the season, with three cautions issued on the day. His latest match was on November 9th in the Papa John's Trophy when he took charge of Burton Albion's 5-0 away win at Wycombe Wanderers. Two cautions were awarded on the night, one to each team.

His first-ever EFL league match came at the Sands Venue Stadium last season, when he took charge of United's season-opener against Newport County which finished 1-1. On the day, two cautions were shown, one to Lewis Spence and the other to Ryan Loft. He also took charge of the score draw at Leyton Orient towards the end of last season.

Meanwhile, he's officiated three previous Stags encounters, with the last also ironically against Leyton Orient. That came earlier in the season, with five yellows and one dismissal issued. The red card was brandished to Mansfield's Tyrese Sinclair, who had only been on the pitch for 17 minutes as a substitute. Across the three games, he's shown 10 yellow cards and two reds.

Last season, he took charge of a total of 29 matches, showing 78 yellow cards and five reds. So far in this campaign, he's issued 47 yellow cards and two reds in his 17 matches to date.

On Saturday, Ben will be assisted by Richard Morris and Andrew Hendley, while Richard Woodward will assume the role of fourth official.
