Ben Toner will now be the man in the middle for the Iron's home League Two game against Carlisle United on Saturday.
Replacing Bobby Madley, who was originally appointed, the Lancashire-based official will travel to the Sands Venue Stadium for his 16th game of the campaign during what is his seventh season as an EFL referee. He has shown 41 yellow cards so far this season and three red.
He was the referee for our 1-1 away draw at Barrow back in October, during which four bookings were handed out.
Prior to then, Toner was last appointed to an Iron game back in November 2019, when we defeated Blackpool 3-1 in the second round of the EFL Trophy. There were four bookings and one sending off that night, as the home side's Callum Guy was dismissed.
In total, he's refereed United on ten occasions, showing 27 yellow cards and one red.
On Saturday, he will be assisted by David Avent and Declan Ford, while Hristo Karaivanov has been appointed as the fourth official.
