Scunthorpe United is delighted to be expanding its partnership with club sponsors and local sixth form education provider John Leggott College.
John Leggott College is a leading sixth form college in Scunthorpe, established in 1968 and recognised across the region for strong A Level and vocational outcomes, inclusive education, and progression to university, apprenticeships, and employment. The college serves students from North Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as international students from around the world.
The relationship between Scunthorpe United and John Leggott College is one that has grown into something genuinely meaningful for both organisations, and most importantly for the students who benefit from it.
Scunthorpe United have used JLC's 3G pitch for training, bringing professional football activity directly onto the college campus. In return, JLC students have been given access to opportunities and experiences that have seen a range of different sixth form subjects cross over into the world of professional football.
This is what a real community partnership looks like. Two local organisations that are working together in a way that benefits the people they both serve.
Phill Dalowsky (Senior Leader at JLC) is also the 1st Team Football Coach and is our link to the United in Partnership relationship we have with the College. The football programme is thriving at JLC and we as a Football Club are proud to be working with them, helping to recognise and harness the best footballing talent across the region.
JLC is currently ranked 1st regionally and 3rd nationally for Sport in the country, with football at the heart of their offer.
Providing unforgettable opportunities to the students of John Leggott College, including last week's end-of-season students' football match on the Attis Arena turf, the Iron will be taking a more hands-on approach in the partnership, providing updates on JLC's success stories on the pitch in the future.
A huge thank you to John Leggott College for their continued support!
