Prior to that, he had been prolific at Under-18s level for two seasons, notching 60 goals in that spell, and has continued to score regularly for the Blades’ Under-23s side. He scored 12 times during the first half of last season before moving away on loan, and has scored 10 goals in 20 starts so far this term.

During the last two years, Hallam has enjoyed loan spells at Southport in the National League North and Norwegian second tier team Viking FK.

He also signed for Chesterfield on loan in the National League in 2018, and scored on his debut in a 1-1 draw against Eastleigh. He appeared five times for the Spireites in all competitions.

Hallam made seven appearances for United towards the end of the 2018-19 season, scoring on his debut away at Rochdale.
