Branden joined Scunthorpe United ahead of the 2025-26 season, bringing with him a wealth of experience from both the Football League and National League.
A product of Doncaster Rovers' academy system, Horton progressed through the ranks at the Keepmoat Stadium and established himself as a highly regarded young defender. Comfortable at left-back, wing-back or further forward on the left flank, he made his senior debut for Doncaster before gaining valuable experience through loan spells with clubs including Gainsborough Trinity and Redditch United.
Following his departure from Doncaster, Horton joined National League side Chesterfield, where he became a regular performer and played an important role during a successful period for the Spireites. Further spells with Halifax Town, Eastleigh and The New Saints added to his experience, with Horton featuring in both domestic and European competition while developing a reputation as a dependable and attack-minded left-sided player.
Horton arrived at the Attis Arena ahead of the club's first season back in the National League and quickly established himself as an important member of Andy Butler's squad. His versatility, experience and quality in possession made him a regular feature throughout the campaign, whether operating as a traditional full-back, wing-back or in a more advanced role on the left flank.
During the 2025-26 season, Horton played a key role in helping the Iron consolidate their place back at Step One. His energy, delivery from wide areas and defensive reliability made him a consistent performer throughout the campaign, while his experience proved invaluable within a squad featuring a blend of youth and seasoned professionals. Equally comfortable defending and attacking, he regularly contributed at both ends of the pitch and became a popular figure among the Iron faithful.
Known for his professionalism, leadership qualities and tireless work ethic, Horton continues to be a key part of Andy Butler's plans as Scunthorpe United look to build on their return to the National League and continue progressing both on and off the field.
