A product of Doncaster Rovers' academy system, Jones progressed through the ranks from the age of 12 before going on to make more than 50 senior appearances for his boyhood club. His first-team debut came under the management of former Iron defender Andy Butler, while a number of loan spells helped aid his development as a young goalkeeper.
In January 2025, Jones joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a short-term deal and quickly established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper. However, a hamstring injury brought his season to a premature end after an impressive run of performances for the Daggers.
Jones first linked up with Scunthorpe United during the summer of 2025, impressing goalkeeping coach Paul Musselwhite during a trial period with his athleticism, handling and shot-stopping ability. An injury setback interrupted his progress, but after returning to training and regaining full fitness, he rejoined the Iron later in the year. He made his first appearance for the club in a National League Cup fixture against Newcastle United Under-21s, keeping a clean sheet and producing a number of impressive saves in a confident display.
Initially arriving to provide additional competition and cover in the goalkeeping department, Jones became an important member of the squad during a period when injuries affected the club's goalkeeping options. His professionalism and quality on the training ground earned him the confidence of the coaching staff, while his experience in both the Football League and National League added valuable depth to Andy Butler's squad, taking the shirt for the latter stages of the season.
Still in the early years of his career, Jones remains a talented goalkeeper with significant potential and a strong desire to continue developing his game at the Attis Arena having signed a new two-year deal in the summer of 2026.
