E-Cigarette / Vaping Policy

E-cigarettes, personal vaporizers (PVs), and electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) are battery-operated devices designed to simulate smoking. These devices produce a vapour, sometimes containing nicotine and flavoured aromas, rather than tobacco smoke.
While many people use these products as an alternative to traditional cigarettes, the vapour produced may cause discomfort to other supporters. In addition, the long-term health effects of passive exposure to e-cigarette vapour are still not fully understood.
Some e-cigarette devices also closely resemble traditional cigarettes, which may cause confusion for supporters and staff within the stadium.
Scunthorpe United Football Club Policy
Scunthorpe United operates a smoke-free stadium policy at Glanford Park. Smoking tobacco products is prohibited anywhere inside the stadium in accordance with Ground Regulation 15 and the Health Act 2006.
The use of e-cigarettes, personal vaporizers, and electronic nicotine delivery systems is not permitted in seated and standing spectator area. Their use is also not permitted within indoor areas of the stadium, including bars, restaurants, hospitality suites, concourses, offices, or other enclosed environments.
Although the Club previously permitted the use of these devices in outdoor spectator areas, e-cigarettes, personal vaporizers, and electronic nicotine delivery systems are now not permitted anywhere within the stadium, including all seated and standing spectator areas.
Safety stewards will enforce this policy and may instruct any supporter using such devices to cease immediately. Failure to comply with a steward’s instruction will be treated as a breach of Ground Regulation 23 — failure to comply with a reasonable instruction — and may result in removal from the stadium.
Supporters wishing to report an incident can do so by speaking to a matchday steward or any member of club staff, using the dedicated reporting facility on our website, or emailing feedback@scunthorpe-united.co.uk.
