The Iron to conclude their pre-season schedule by welcoming Chesterfield to the Attis Arena

Scunthorpe United can confirm that their final pre-season friendly in preparation for the 2026-27 season will take place against Chesterfield on Friday, July 31st (7.30pm kick-off).

The match will mark the final of the Iron’s pre-season fixtures and take place on the Iron’s recently refurbished home turf at the Attis Arena, unveiling the new surface to supporters ahead of the new Enterprise National League season.

A fixture that has been documented many times over the years across multiple levels of the football league, the last time that United met the Spireites would, in fact, come during the pre-season preparations for the 2024-25 season, when Paul Cook's Chesterfield side ran out 3-0 victors courtesy of a trio of first-half goals from Michael Jacobs, Ryan Colclough and Liam Mandeville.

The two sides have met on 64 occasions competitively, the Iron winning 21, Chesterfield 26, while there have been 17 stalemates.

Tickets for the game will go on sale in due course, with prices confirmed below. Season ticket holders will be able to purchase their seats in a priority window first, with reservations in place until Friday, July 10th at 4pm. General sale will commence after this time, with all seat reservations released after this point.
