Iron thrash Peterborough Sports 5-0 in playoff semi

It was a dominant display from The Iron at The Attis Arena, with Andy Butler's side controlling proceedings from the opening whistle. The home faithful were in fine voice from the start, and their team rewarded them with a performance full of energy, intensity, and clinical finishing.

Ross Barrows opened the scoring on 18 minutes with a trademark finish, latching onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Joe Rowley before calmly slotting past the onrushing goalkeeper.

The second half saw The Iron pick up where they left off. Barrows grabbed his second on 58 minutes, heading home from a pinpoint Tyler Denton cross, before Rowley capped a superb individual display with a stunning 25-yard free kick.

Manager Andy Butler was full of praise for his squad after the final whistle. "The lads were outstanding today, from back to front. Results like this show what we're building here."
