IRON TEAM NEWS

Striker Caolan Lavery has left the club after his short-term contract came to an end on Sunday.

Fin Shrimpton continues to be ruled out following a damaged ankle ligament, whilst Marcus Carver (groin) is set for a lengthy spell on the side lines following three injectionswhich he has taken in recent weeks.

Liam Feeney will travel with the group to FC Halifax Town, with a look to seeing if he can make the squad on the day, after training recently.

THE OPPOSITION

The Shaymen have suffered four consecutive postponements in the past week, meaning Chris Millington’s side haven’t played since their 1-0 defeat away at Torquay on January 7th.

The West Yorkshire-based side currently sit in 15th position, with Millington’s side registering nine wins from 25 games so far this season, and also go into the fixture seven games unbeaten on home turf.

FC Halifax Town were dumped out of the National League play-offs last season after Chesterfield left The Shay with a 2-1 win in May 2022.

Manager Pete Wild left Town in favour of a move to Barrow following play-off disappointment, which saw then assistant manager Chris Millington step up to lead The Shaymen in their 2022/23 campaign.

A stop-start season in regards to form has seen back-to-back wins recorded just once so far, with Millington’s side beating both Chesterfield and Dorking Wanderers at home in the space of four days at the beginning of December.
