OTD: January 24

Remembering past matches played by the Iron on January 24...

Former Iron players born on this day: Richard Siddall (1982), Curtis Weston (1987), Aaron Jarvis (1998).

Promotion-chasing Scunthorpe had to work hard before getting the better of managerless Leyton Orient On This Day in 2009.

The home side struggled in front of goal but took the lead just before the break when Martyn Woolford's cross found Paul Hayes at the far post.

Orient levelled on 59 minutes after Dean Morgan raced through the middle to beat keeper Joe Murphy.

But five minutes later, Garry Thompson curled a right-footed shot past Jamie Jones for the winner.

Overall playing record for January 24: Played 8, Won 3, Drawn 2, Lost 3, Scored 13, Conceded 14.
