Darren Anderton's spectacular debut strike earned Bournemouth a draw after falling behind to the Iron in 2006.

The ex-England winger hit a free-kick from 35 yards out which smacked the underside of the bar and bounced into the back of the net.

The goal cancelled out Neil MacKenzie's early opener which saw the midfielder bury a left-foot shot from 15 yards.

And Scunthorpe could have secured victory had striker Billy Sharp not missed two late chances.

in 2017, United defeated Portsmouth 2-0 at home with Lee Novak and Duane Holmes netting.

Overall playing record for September 23: Played 13, Won 4, Drawn 2, Lost 7, Scored 20, Conceded 26.
